Q & A
I know I'm in for a long Wednesday when I look in my pro-am partner's bag and see...
Seven woods and a chipper.
If my wife/girlfriend could choose the vanity plate on my car, it would read...
Sleepy.
At Thanksgiving dinner, you'd be most thankful for what shot pulled off in 2005?
My flu shot. I moved back to Minnesota full time.
Forget about the Vardon Trophy or Player of the Year, the PGA Tour awards ceremony would be a whole lot more entertaining if they awarded...
Who won or lost the most gambling.
A lot of guys complain about metal spikes, but what I would outlaw would be...
TV call-ins about rules violations.
My high school PE teacher would describe my athletic ability as...
Not too bad, but a little lazy.
I'd lay 10:1 odds on my caddie against anyone in the field if the game/contest were...
Anything about drugs (he has his PhD in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota)!
If golf were like other team sports and there was a pre-game speech or a halftime speech, what coach (living or dead) would you choose to deliver that pep talk? Why?
Coach John Fields from the University of Texas, because I know him so well and he would be sincere.
Do you think there should be a standardized golf ball for professionals? If so, do you think that will solve the distance debate? If not, what will solve the distance debate?
I would not go backwards on the golf ball, but nor would I allow any more advancements.
What is the funniest/quirkiest encounter you have had with a fan?
I had to wait for a man to quit vomiting at the FBR Open so I could hit my chip on the last hole.
Which professional golfer would win on Celebrity Jeopardy? Who would end up with a negative dollar amount?
Phil Mickelson. Me.
Who is one athlete outside the game of golf you admire?
Brett Favre.
What type of vehicle were you driving when you won your first professional event? How long after that victory before you upgraded?
Ford Taurus. Then I won the 1996 Honda Classic and drove a Honda Passport.
During a tournament, what is your pre-round routine? What is the first club out of the bag during a practice session? Last?
I have a one-hour routine. A half hour hitting and a half hour chipping and putting. I start with my sand wedge and then end up on my 9-iron for my cool down.
What do you think about a three-way international competition pitting the best from the United States, Europe and the rest of the world?
Great idea!
