| Was T3 at the U.S. Senior Open. After an opening round, 2-over-par 72, followed with three consecutive rounds in the 60s to remain among the leaders throughout the final three rounds. Was 3-under-par after eight holes Sunday, but his undoing was a double bogey on No. 9 and a bogey at No. 11... Hobbled by a sore right knee at the start of the season and eventually had a series of synthetic cartilage injections in hopes of avoiding knee replacement...Was forced to withdraw from the Toshiba Classic prior to the final round. Has also been troubled by a sore left hip...Finished T4 in the AT&T Classic at Valencia the week prior...Placed T27 at the Verizon Heritage in April at Hilton Head Island on the PGA TOUR...Strong play continued the next week at the Liberty Mutual Legends Legends of Golf. Made a spirited run on the final day and was tied for the lead at one point on the back nine. Could not hold off a late, back-nine charge by eventual winner Jay Haas and finished T2...Held the 36-hole lead at the Senior PGA Championship after rounds of 67-68, but finished with consecutive rounds of 75 on the weekend to slip to a T7 finish at the Oak Tree GC in Oklahoma...Closed with 66 at The Raven GC to T8 at The Boeing Championship at Sandestin. |
