Janzen & Mediate Hang On, Win Shootout
Lee Janzen and Rocco Mediate started the final round of the 14th annual Shark Shootout with a three-shot advantage. That lead evaporated quickly thanks to a birdie binge from the field's young guns, David Gossett and Matt Kuchar. However, Janzen stuck his approach to three feet on the final hole, Mediate tapped in the birdie putt and the result was a one-shot victory over the former U.S. amateur champions and the team of John Huston and Jeff Maggert.
Cancer-Free Nicholas Inspires Shootout The loudest ovation at The Shark Shootout was directed toward Nicholas Marchitto, a 5-year-old cancer survivor who tipped his cap to the gallery as he walked alongside Greg Norman. Last week, Nicholas and his family were guests of the Normans, who founded the Shootout in 1989 to raise money and awareness for the National Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Faxon, McCarron Seek Third Straight Shootout Title Brad Faxon and Scott McCarron are going for three in a row in the $2.25 million Shark Shootout. Last year, they became the first to win consecutive titles, which includes 12 two-man squads and was founded and is hosted by Greg Norman.
